Chorizo is probably the best known Spanish cured meat. It is made from minced, ground pork, which is seasoned and takes on a lovely smoky flavour and rich red colour from paprika and chilli.

Armorel has selected her chorizo products from suppliers for their ethics and quality to suit any occasion or recipe. Some chorizo is cured and can be sliced and eaten without cooking, can top a pizza or added to give flavour to many recipes. Other chorizo may need cooking before eating.

Alejandro Chorizo Hoop Hot

This spicy chorizo is half way between a cooking chorizo and a cured one. This makes it really versatile; you can eat it on its own or use in many recipes as it has such a deep flavour. For a really easy tasty tray bake supper, chop the chorizo into chunks and mix in a large roasting dish with chicken thighs, small new potatoes, red onion, peppers, basil, small plum tomatoes and plenty of seasoning and roast for about 45 minutes. Serve with a large green salad and this meal pairs fantastically well with a light Spanish wine such as Rioja.

Chorizo Pamplona

Made with equal parts of finely-chopped beef and pork this is a strong, paprika flavoured cured Spanish sausage. Similar to pepperoni, it is tangy and salty. Again, this chorizo enhances the flavour of many dishes but especially tasty when added to a chili con carne. For a burger with a twist, mix lean minced beef with chorizo, canned red kidney beans, breadcrumbs and seasoning and shape into burgers. Fry for 15 minutes and serve them in bread rolls and a huge salad, accompanied with chutneys.

Suffolk Chorizo

At Armadeli we are proud to offer a British chorizo – handmade with Suffolk pork, Our suppliers are proud to say they were one of the first producers of British charcuterie, using the finest ingredients with Freedom Food approved pork reared on their farm. Blended with paprika, spices, garlic and herbs and then gently smoked, this chorizo can be eaten as it is, or added to dishes.
